![]() Liberty is scheduled to come up North the weekend of July 15th. If you notice the marks on top of her right ear those are fly strikes from being left outside for periods of time. She has a wonderful temperament sweet and soulful, good with other dogs! She has not had the best of humans in her life. The next step is to find some temporary boarding down there until we can hook her up with a transport to come north. How is it easier to kill a shelter full of animals than to come in on holiday to care for them? Please understand if CHBR had not be contacted by the local rescuers with the boots on the ground and had not intervened (pulled her from the shelter) and put her in a temp foster home. In other words, if you do not have animals in your facility you don’t have to work on a holiday. This means that without the commitment she would have been euthanized. I don’t know how to say it but to say it, some shelters are different than others. This two to three year old girl was at risk for euthanasia in an overcrowded shelter. This was an 11th Hour request last night. ![]() We wanted to share with you just some of the requests that we get. Get your application in for this pretty girl she won’t be around long! Kids, male dogs, loving and all wiggles you want. Let’s give Cat the love and care she deserves! If you’d like to contribute towards Cat’s medical care and transportation, please see ways to donate below. We named her Cat after the equipment that provided her with a temporary refuge, but we know her future holds so much more.Īs Cat begins her journey towards a better life, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters and volunteers. But she’s now safe in our care! She will be thoroughly evaluated by a veterinarian, receive all necessary vaccinations, and get the healthcare she desperately needs before she is transported. The situation for street dogs in Texas is dire, and Cat’s story is, unfortunately, all too common. Thanks to the quick thinking and compassionate heart of a Good Samaritan, Cat was approached and able to be rescued from the perils of the street. ![]() It was a scorching summer day, and she was nearly hit by several cars. This sweet female boxer was found in Starr County, Texas, cowering under a piece of Cat brand construction equipment on the side of a busy road, amidst heavy construction a few days ago. We’d like to introduce you to a brave soul who has captured our hearts – meet Cat. Welcome to the streets of Starr County, Texas, where the average temperature is 97 degrees.
